All workshops require a participation fee of 8000円 per person and includes all taxes, interpreter fee, light snacks and local craft tea.
Traditional Handcraft with Ōshima Tsumugi Silk
Using a 200 year old technique, you’ll work with upcycled, traditionally woven silk to make a beautiful flower ornament that you can wear in your hair or as a pocket square.
Yakusugi Woodworking
Make a one of a kind keychain using recovered precious cedar from Yakushima. Carry the energy of Japan’s first world heritage site with you wherever you go!
Kurobuta Leatherworking
Kurobuta is not just something you can eat! Learn more about our sustainable living philosophy while having fun making small accessories from recycled leather!
Spinning Organic Cotton
Cotton spinning and weaving has been an important part of Kagoshima’s industries since ancient times. Spend some time relaxing by making yarn entirely by hand. Then use your yarn to weave friendship bracelets, etc.
